The detective historical drama transports the viewer to the Yenisei Governorate of the 1860s — a time when a large gold deposit was discovered in its vicinity. This discovery sparked a fierce struggle for the precious metal between escaped convicts, exiled officers, and enterprising merchants. The film was shot in Minusinsk, Shushenskoye, and Krasnoyarsk, where authentic corners with well-preserved 19th-century architecture were captured. The frame features wooden estates and merchant houses of that era, a historic alley in Krasnoyarsk, the Chapel of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, the museum center 'Peace Square', the picturesque Yenisei embankment, the cable-stayed bridge to Tatyshev Island, as well as the Surikov Museum-Estate, the 'Gremyachaya Griva' ecopark, and the 'Stolby' National Park. Particularly valuable for creating an authentic atmosphere were the shoots in Shushenskoye and on Gorky Street in Krasnoyarsk, where unique 19th-century architecture has been preserved. Film director Mikhail Wasserbaum emphasized that the plot covers events of three centuries, and therefore it was important for the team to convey the historical authenticity of each scene.
