Although the British drama is set in the Spanish fishing village of Almería, the film crew preferred to recreate the atmosphere of this place in Greece. The Attica region, with its picturesque landscapes, served as a "stand-in" for the Spanish coast. The film was shot in Lavrio, Marathonas, Nea Makri, Piraeus, and also in the very center of Athens. The Attica region was chosen due to its similarity to Almería: white houses, narrow streets, and proximity to the sea helped create the necessary illusion. The filmmakers chose this beach for shooting one of the scenes because its picturesque views and calm atmosphere perfectly convey the atmosphere of a southern summer. In addition, its proximity to Athens makes it an accessible location for the film crew, adding convenience to the filmmaking process.
