A family film directed by Dwight Little continues the touching story that began in the first part of 1993. Principal photography took place in the picturesque coastal areas of British Columbia, including Telegraph Cove and Vancouver Island. These captivating locations became the perfect backdrop for impressive ocean scenes. Additionally, the film crew worked in various parts of North America, including the San Juan Islands, Orcas Island, Friday Harbor, Lopez Island (Washington), Escondido (California), Astoria (Oregon), and Whidbey Island (Washington). Some scenes were filmed in Los Angeles at Warner Bros. Studios, where sets for non-aquatic episodes were created under controlled conditions. One of the most challenging tasks for the film crew was working with real killer whales and underwater scenes. To achieve this, animatronics and special studio pools were used, allowing for spectacular and realistic results without compromising safety.
