The filming style of the series is a visualization of Tanya's personal diary, as if her thoughts spilled across the screen. The camera invisibly accompanies the heroine, without interfering, allowing the viewer to dissolve into her world. That is why the locations are chosen not just as a background, but as an emotional extension of her inner state. Herzen University is a symbol of youth, the movement of thought, first hopes. The House of the Deaf is a metaphor for isolation, the silence in which the most desperate thoughts are born. And the Fontanka embankment, with its cold air and dim lights, seems to whisper about what was lost and never happened. All of this is St. Petersburg through Tanya's eyes, simultaneously real and almost dreamlike.

The scene where Tanya, together with Uncle Mitya in his workshop, carefully pack paintings and sculptures — works of art are prepared for evacuation to save them from capture. Also, the scene of the play "The Three Musketeers" was filmed here: exhausted but resilient actors take the stage in front of equally emaciated spectators. These scenes were shot at the St. Petersburg House of the Deaf — its ancient halls, courtyard, and basements convey the authentic atmosphere of besieged Leningrad, where culture, hope, and fortitude are preserved.
In reality

The scene was filmed …in the historic building of the St. Petersburg House of the Deaf — an architectural monument with authentic pre-war interiors. Its massive walls, high ceilings, and quiet, semi-dark corridors create a feeling of coziness and anxiety simultaneously. The space was ideal for scenes conveying the atmosphere of besieged Leningrad.
Herzen University.

The scene where many fragments of the series "Only Tanya Remained" were filmed. The university allowed recreating that very cold but spirit-filled atmosphere of resilience. Classes in schools continue despite the cold and hunger during the siege of Leningrad. Schoolchildren often have to hide in bomb shelters, but the passion for knowledge prevails.
In reality

The scene was filmed within the walls of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia — one of the oldest educational institutions in St. Petersburg. Its interiors with pre-revolutionary architecture, massive corridors, and basements perfectly convey the atmosphere of besieged Leningrad. Here one feels the spirit of resilience and thirst for knowledge reflected in the series.
