The entire film was shot in Denmark, in cities such as Taastrup, Ballerup, and Sjælland. The story takes place in a small Danish town, so the film crew looked for locations that could convey the atmosphere of life in such a settlement. The natural beauty of these cities was used to great effect in the film.

The scene was filmed on the grounds of Høje Taastrup Church, located in the city of Taastrup. The building sits on the highest point of the Høje-Taastrup municipality, where its 30-meter tower rises above the other structures. The church was built after 1050, and its pews can seat 250 people.

Kindergarten

In the Movie

Scene where small children watch from hiding as Lucas walks down the street. They hide so he won't notice them, but they aren't very skillful at it. The hero smiles and pretends not to see them. Whistling cheerfully, he opens the gate and enters the kindergarten grounds. The little rascals come out of ambush and playfully attack Lucas.

The scene was filmed at the suburban kindergarten Tranehuset, located in the city of Ballerup. The main character of the film works as a kindergarten teacher. For the plot, it was important to show the character's daily routine, and the grounds of this kindergarten were a perfect fit.

Estate

Scene where after the hunt, friends bring their catch to the estate. Around the table, they noisily and cheerfully discuss the results of the hunt. Several men tease Theo, saying his eyesight has deteriorated, take off their glasses, and offer them to him.

The scene was filmed at the Benzonsdal Manor, located in the northern part of Ishøj Municipality. The estate was founded in 1730 for Supreme Court Judge Peder Benzon. Since 1853, the manor has belonged to the Lerche family. The main building was constructed in 1856.
