The main filming location for the series was the "Morozovsky Gorodok" or "Dvor Proletarki", as it is also called - an architectural complex of red-brick buildings built at the end of the 19th century near a weaving and spinning enterprise in Tver. This town was ideal for the creators of the series to recreate the post-war atmosphere of devastation.
Abandoned factories in Moscow and the Moscow region were also used. The territory of the Textile Factory in Pavlovsky Posad played its role in creating the show. Viewers can also spot on screen the National Scientific Center for Mining Production of the Institute of Mining in Lyubertsy. The Mikhailovskoye estate in the Moscow region also became one of the filming locations.

The structure is the most famous building of this town. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century and before the revolution was called "House named after Varvara Alekseevna Morozova" - in honor of the famous philanthropist who, after her husband's death, took over the management of the Tver Manufactory.

The scene was filmed on the territory of the A.A. Skochinsky Institute of Mining in Lyubertsy. The interior of the institute resembles post-war hospitals, so the filming crew decided to shoot here. Since the 1990s, the building has been in disrepair and is slowly deteriorating.
