To bring the landscapes of the series' different planets to the screen, the film crew traveled all over England. They stopped in Buckinghamshire, where a village was built on the site of a former quarry in Little Marlow. Not far from this location is Pinewood Studios, which has extensive grounds for filming; the studio played a significant role in the production of the series. Several key scenes were filmed in London. In the town of Corringham, the series crew used a former oil refinery. Scotland also became a filming location for the sci-fi spy thriller.

Scene where Syril Karn, along with Imperial soldiers, arrives on a planet tracking a criminal. They exit the starship and inform another squad that they are in position. Inspectors walk past local workers, including Brasso, Cassian's friend. Scene from episode 3 of season 1

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the Coryton Refinery, a former oil refinery located in the town of Corringham, England. The refinery began operations in 1953. In 2012, management declared bankruptcy, and the refinery ceased operations.

Entrance to Imperial Security Headquarters

In the Movie

Scene where Lieutenant of the Imperial Security Bureau Dedra Meero enters the Bureau's headquarters on the planet Coruscant. A security council meeting is taking place there. Dedra decides to investigate the incident on Ferrix. Scene from episode 4 of season 1

In Reality

The scene was filmed in the square under the bridge leading to Canary Wharf railway station. The station is located in East London. It is part of the Crossrail Place complex, which, in addition to the station, includes shops, a cinema, and a huge roof garden. This complex of buildings looks quite futuristic, which was necessary for filming the scene.

Imperial Supply Center on the Planet Aldhani

In the Movie

Scene where Cassian and his fellow rebels disguise themselves as garrison soldiers. A group of Aldhani pilgrims passes by them. Together with the planet's inhabitants, the heroes approach the foot of a dam controlled by the Imperial garrison. Scene from episode 6 of season 1.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the Cruachan hydroelectric power station, located between the Cruachan reservoir and Loch Awe in Scotland. The production team used the landscapes of Ben Cruachan mountain, as well as the dam's tunnels, to depict key scenes of the sixth episode on the planet Aldhani.
