Development of the third film in the «Transformers» franchise began in May 2007. Filming used both traditional 35mm film cameras and specially developed cameras for 3D shooting. Work on the film took place in various locations, including Chicago, Florida, Indiana, Milwaukee, Washington, as well as Tanzania and Cambodia. The film was fully rendered in 3D to provide a full volumetric effect. Visual effects became significantly more complex compared to previous installments: new robot models required more time and resources for rendering.

The scene where Sam Witwicky arrives at the workplace of his girlfriend Carly Spencer. He feels a bit tense because he realizes that her boss is clearly showing interest in her. After Carly meets Sam with a smile and they exchange a few warm words, Sam notices that her boss is watching them closely with curiosity and even a slight challenge.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the Milwaukee Art Museum, located on the shore of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, USA. This museum, opened in 1957, is one of the city's most significant cultural landmarks and is known for its unique architecture. The museum building was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, and its distinctive feature is a huge, wing-like "brise soleil" element in the shape of a bird that opens and closes depending on the time of day.

Savannah

The scene where the wounded and completely insane Megatron, in an extreme state of exhaustion and rage, hides in the savannah. His massive body is crippled after battles, and his actions become increasingly unpredictable. With him is Soundwave, his loyal ally.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, one of the most famous and extensive natural reserves in Africa. The park is known for its endless plains stretching to the horizon, covered with golden grasses and sparse acacia trees. This place is famous for its incredible nature and rich biodiversity, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and other wild animal species.

Pripyat

In the Movie

The scene where the Autobots help humanity prevent major conflicts. During a mission to the site of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster to investigate alleged alien technology, the Autobots are attacked by the Decepticon scientist Shockwave and his giant worm Driller.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the Michigan Boulevard Garden Apartments complex, now known as the Rosenwald Court Apartments, located on Chicago's South Side between 46th and 47th Streets along South Michigan Avenue. Built in 1929 on the initiative of philanthropist Julius Rosenwald, the complex was intended to provide quality housing for the African American middle class.
