Its ancient stone monastic buildings, resembling beehives, perfectly fit the spirit of Jedi tranquility and detachment. Additional scenes were filmed on the Dingle Peninsula, in the Sibeal area, where elements of the island's landscape were recreated, surrounded by scenic cliffs and the Atlantic. Contrasting with Ireland's wild nature is Dubrovnik (Croatia), which served as the model for the city-planet Canto Bight — a center of luxury and gambling. The narrow streets of the Old Town, the marble-paved Stradun, and historic architecture were used for scenes involving chases and internal intrigues. Equally impressive was the Salar de Uyuni salt flat in Bolivia — the world's largest, with a blindingly white surface. This is where the key battle on the planet Crait was filmed, where the salt crust beneath a layer of red dust creates an otherworldly visual effect. Thanks to the careful selection of filming locations, 'The Last Jedi' gained not only spectacle but also geographical diversity, enhancing the sense of authenticity of a galaxy far, far away.

Scene where Rey, accompanied by Chewbacca and R2-D2, arrives on the remote planet Ahch-To. They land aboard the Millennium Falcon, searching for the legendary Luke Skywalker. Climbing the ancient stone steps, Rey finds Luke and silently hands him his old lightsaber.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on Skellig Michael Island — a majestic rocky island in the Atlantic Ocean, about 11.6 km off the coast of Ireland, west of the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry. The name 'Skellig' comes from the Irish sceilig, meaning 'rock'. Skellig Michael has significant historical importance — an early Christian monastery existed here from the 6th to the 12th century. The monks built stone beehive huts and oratories, placing them on one of the terraced platforms on the slope. The island was abandoned by monks around the 13th century, but the well-preserved structures are still considered a unique example of early Christian architecture. In 1996, Skellig Michael was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Due to its isolation and pristine appearance, it was chosen as the location for filming the planet Ahch-To in the movie.

Scene where Rey's first lesson with Luke takes place, becoming an important moment in her training. Luke helps her focus on feeling the Force and understanding its balance. Rey begins to sense the surrounding energy, sees visions, and even lifts small rocks, experiencing a deep connection with the Force for the first time. However, during meditation, she feels a pull toward a dark crevice on the island. Despite Luke's warning, Rey does not resist and allows the Force to lead her inside.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at Sybil Head, located on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. To bring the scene to life, the production team built an elaborate set of the First Jedi Temple. Unfortunately, fans visiting the site today will not find these structures, as they were temporary for filming.

Scene where Holdo notices the Supremacy destroying the escape ships and makes a decisive move. To save the others, she steers her cruiser directly at the First Order flagship and performs a hyperspace ram. The impact tears the Supremacy in half, allowing the Resistance transports to reach shelter, Rey to escape Snoke's ship, and Finn and Rose to avoid execution. Shortly after, Finn fights Captain Phasma, and she dies after falling through a shattered floor following an explosion. With support from BB-8, Finn and Rose manage to reach the old Rebel base on the planet Crait.

The scene was filmed at the Salar de Uyuni salt flat — the world's largest salt plateau, located about 160 kilometers southwest of the city of Potosí in Bolivia. It covers approximately 10,000 square kilometers on the Bolivian Altiplano in the highlands of the Andes.
