π₯Sintering β a key stage in creating durable ceramics after 3D printing.
After printing and firing, the ceramic part is not yet ready β it is fragile and porous, like a dry sponge. To turn it into real, hard ceramics, sintering is performed.
βWhat is it?
This is a process where the product is heated to very high temperatures β from 1100 to 1700β―Β°C, depending on the material. The ceramic particles fuse together, like snow under the sun, turning from a loose mass into a dense, monolithic structure.
π¬Why is it needed?
- Removes tiny pores and voids.
- Increases strength, heat resistance, and long service life.
- The surface becomes smoother and harder.
π How it happens:
- The part is slowly heated to avoid cracking from temperature changes.
- Sintering lasts up to two days with pauses for even heating.
Then the product is also slowly cooled β and you get ready dense ceramics.
After sintering, the ceramics are ready for use β strong, smooth, and beautiful.
