Forgive me, fans of 'Obsession'

I am dissatisfied with the film. The story, of course, is worthy of attention. In the last five years, cinema has increasingly talked about some mythical healthy relationships, showing them to the viewer by the method of "from the opposite": "One Whole", "Wuthering Heights", "Normal People", "The Worst Person in the World", the list goes on.

The main idea of the film has long been familiar to us: it's scary to depend on a loved one. But is this a revelation? In my opinion, 'Obsession' stands out largely due to its methods of influence, bringing disgust to the highest point.

Of course, the story is full of easter eggs (such subtle hints-features), but no film is without them. Is the ending predictable? Yes. Does it become less spectacular because of this? No.

Inde Navarrette as Nikki takes the viewer's attention hostage. The girl becomes a key character, whose changes are interesting to watch. It's interesting how this affects the female image in the mass consciousness.

Contrary to the genre, there are practically no jump scares in the film. Whether this is a plus or a minus for you, decide for yourself.

Summing up, the story stands out among horrors for its psychologism, but clearly loses to dramatic films with a similar range of themes. This is roughly how one can describe post-horror.
