The scene was filmed at The low lighthouse of IJmuiden in the background is a round reddish-brown cast-iron tower designed by Quirinus Harder and built in 1877-1878 by D.A. Schretlen & Co from Leiden. The tower is 24 meters high, and together with the high lighthouse of IJmuiden, it forms a line of light marking the IJ Canal and the entrance to the port. The tower has five floors and 88 steps.
