The scene was filmed at Middendorf's was opened in 1934 during the Great Depression. A German couple named Josie and Louis Middendorf founded the restaurant. In 2006, the restaurant was bought by chef Horst Pfeifer. Middendorf's restaurant is located near the Manchac Swamp Bridge, a twin concrete trestle bridge 22.80 miles (36.69 km) long. It is one of the longest bridges in the world over water and the longest bridge in the Interstate Highway System. It was officially opened in 1979.

The scene was filmed at Hotel Maison de Ville is located in a historic building in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans. The building itself dates back to the 18th century. It was built after the catastrophic Great New Orleans Fire of 1788. It has been restored. The hotel began operations in the 1940s, but in 2012 it reopened as Hotel Maison De Ville.
