The scene was filmed at the New York State Supreme Court building, originally known as the New York County Courthouse, which houses the civil and appellate divisions of the New York State Supreme Court for the First Judicial District of the state. The granite-clad hexagonal building was designed by Guy Lowell of Boston in the classical Roman style and built between 1913 and 1927, with completion delayed due to World War I.
