The scene was filmed at Airlie Gardens, which covers 67 acres of gardens, wildlife, and lakes. The impressive Airlie Oak dates back to 1545. You can walk the trails in the gardens or take a tram ride.

Street Bench

Scene where Adam and Maya have a date.

In reality

The scene was filmed on a street in Wilmington, North Carolina. The bench does not actually exist and was installed specifically for filming. Behind the main characters, the Cape Fear River flows beyond the houses.

St. James Episcopal Parish

In the movie

Scene where Maya tells Adam she loves him, and he shows her that he loves her too.

In reality

The scene was filmed at St. James Episcopal Parish, the oldest church in Wilmington. It was created by architect Henry C. Dudley (1813-1894), who designed over 180 churches. Dudley designed the truss roof in 1871, and the chancel and transept in 1885.

Wilmington Downtown Riverwalk

In reality

The scene was filmed at The Wilmington Riverwalk project was first started in 1980, and required reworking and/or updating numerous docks, piers, and the waterfront itself. The Wilmington Riverwalk is 1.75 miles long, after being fully completed in November 2017.
