The scene was filmed at Vondelpark, a public urban park of 47 hectares (120 acres) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is part of the Amsterdam-Zuid district and is located west of Leidseplein and Museumplein. The park opened in 1865. It is visited by about 10 million people annually. The park features an open-air theatre, a playground, and several catering facilities.

The scene was filmed at Damrak, a thoroughfare and partially filled canal in the center of Amsterdam, running between Amsterdam Centraal to the north and Dam Square to the south. It is the main street through which people arriving at the station enter the center of Amsterdam. Due to the former stock exchange building, the monumental Beurs van Berlage, and several other buildings associated with financial activities built here in the early 20th century, the term "Damrak" became synonymous with the Amsterdam Stock Exchange just as "Wall Street" is synonymous with the New York Stock Exchange. Now the Beurs van Berlage building serves as a concert and exhibition hall. Today, the area is known for its restaurants, bars, and tourist shops.
