The scene was filmed at The Flint Center for the Performing Arts is located along Stevens Creek Boulevard on the campus of De Anza College. The theater, opened in 1971, seats about 2,400. The Flint Center is no longer used by the college for classes. Instead, classes are held in the newer and smaller Visual and Performing Arts Center, which also hosts cultural performances and community events, and houses the De Anza College Euphrat Museum of Art.

The scene was filmed at The War Memorial Opera House is an opera house in San Francisco, California, located on the west side of Van Ness Avenue opposite the west side/rear facade of San Francisco City Hall. It is part of the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center. Since its premiere in 1932, it has been the home of the San Francisco Opera. Filming took place in March 2015.
