The scene was filmed at Originally named the Buena Vista Viaduct, the North Broadway Bridge was the first major monumental Beaux-Arts style bridge built by the city of Los Angeles. Upon completion in 1911, it became the longest and widest concrete arch bridge in California, with a total length of 968 feet. The North Broadway Bridge was designed by Homer Hamlin and Alfred P. Rosenheim. In 2008, the North Broadway Bridge was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 907.
