The scene was filmed at John Ivers, an unassuming grandfather living in Bruceville, Indiana, started the project with 10 feet of straight track in his barn, on which he mounted a converted car seat. Through trial and error—without formal engineering education—he kept building until the ride outgrew the small barn. Then he moved it outside and continued building, adding a full loop, a conveyor chain with a motor, support towers, and flag mounts. When it was finished, he naturally christened the roller coaster with a name: "Blue Flash." Originally built for Ivers' five grandchildren in 2001, this attraction uniquely combines remote location, creative imagination, engineering ingenuity, and unparalleled adrenaline, drawing thrill-seekers and news outlets. Acolytes of the "Blue Flash" began flocking to Bruceville from all over the world.
