The scene was filmed in Carei, a town in Satu Mare County in northwestern Romania, near the border with Hungary. The most important historical building in the town is Karolyi Castle. Originally built as a fortress in the 14th century, it was rebuilt as a castle in 1794 and underwent further transformations in the 19th century.
