The scene was filmed at Bethells Beach, a coastal settlement in the Auckland region on the north of the North Island, New Zealand. In 1976, the New Zealand Geographic Board changed the beach's name from Bethells Beach to Te Henga. Te Henga is the Māori name meaning sand. The beach is located about 30 kilometers west of Auckland city.
