The scene was filmed at Battle Lake is a lake on Vancouver Island in the Strathcona Regional District, British Columbia, Canada. It is about 23 kilometers (14 miles) long, 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) wide, with an area of 28 square kilometers (11 square miles), a depth of up to 120 meters (394 feet), and an elevation of 221 meters (725 feet). The lake is located between Campbell River and Gold River in Strathcona Provincial Park; there is a campground on its shore. The lake is the source of the Campbell River. It was named after John Battle, a geologist and botanist from Kew Gardens, London, who arrived in the area with the Royal Engineers. They mapped the area around the lake in 1865.

The scene was filmed at Myra Falls is a waterfall located at the southern end of Battle Lake. It can be reached by a paved road to the Myra Falls mine gate or by boat on Battle Lake. The waterfall and Myra Creek were named after Myra Allison, daughter of Price Allison, who participated in an exploratory survey in 1910 that preceded the creation of Strathcona Provincial Park.
