The scene was filmed at Piazza Grande, the most remarkable medieval square in Arezzo. Once the city's main market, it now houses many famous landmarks such as the Palazzo della Fraternità dei Laici, the Loggia di Vasari, and the Palazzo Cofani-Brizzolari. It has a sloping pavement of red brick with geometric lines of limestone.
