The scene was filmed at 30th Street Station - the main railway station of Philadelphia. In 2018, the station served over 4 million intercity train passengers. The building, first opened in 1933, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 'Spirit of Transportation', conceived and sculpted by Karl Bitter, was completed in 1895 and originally installed in the waiting room of Philadelphia's Broad Street Station, from where it was moved to this location in January 1933. The Spirit of Transportation is depicted in a triumphal procession of progress led by a small child carrying a model airship - a prophetic vision of a future mode of transport.

Small businesses sell Amish crafts, food, and offer horse and buggy rides. Intercourse was founded in 1754. The community was originally called Cross Keys, after a local tavern. The name Intercourse appeared in 1814. The village website offers several versions of the origin of the name.
