The scene was filmed at The Peristyle was created as a dance floor during auditions for musical performances on the nearby bandstand. Originally called the peristyle, it cost $15,330 when erected in 1907. The dance platform was designed to match the style of the Ansman Bridge, which was erected in 1903 by the same design firm. The Peristyle was advertised as a majestic addition to the park. Dances at the Peristyle were held from six to eleven thirty in the evening. Today it is most often used for weddings and photo shoots.
