The scene was filmed at The Everett Theatre debuted on November 9, 1922. It was designed by renowned theater architects W.H. Hoffman and Paul J. Henon Jr. The Philadelphia architectural firm was known for its theater designs—100 theaters in total, 46 of them in Philadelphia alone. Since its opening, the Everett has been a favorite spot for all area residents to watch new movies or vaudeville shows. Generations of Middletown residents have enjoyed the special experience of watching movies at the famous theater. The Everett Theatre was loved by many. This fact did not always protect it from societal pressures. As televisions, modern cinemas, and shopping malls took away potential audiences from the Everett, it went through hard times. In 1983, a group of concerned citizens formed the non-profit organization Associated Community Talents, Inc. to purchase the Everett Theatre and restore it. Associated Community Talents, Inc. evolved into The Everett, Inc. This non-profit organization operates the Everett Theatre and the Gibby Center for the Arts.

The scene was filmed at St. Andrew's, a private Episcopal coeducational boarding school in Middletown, Delaware, was founded in 1929 by A. Felix du Pont (1879-1948). He was a member of the du Pont family, which made its fortune in the chemical industry. The school was founded to provide higher education to boys from all socio-economic backgrounds, regardless of their families' ability to pay. Initially, St. Andrew's was a boys' school, but became coeducational in 1973. The school was also used in an episode of the series "The West Wing" as the New England boarding school of young Jed Bartlet.
