The scene was filmed at Quiraing, a landslide on the eastern slope of the northernmost peak of Trotternish on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Individual parts of the distinctive landscape have special names. "The Needle" is a jagged pinnacle 120 feet (37 m) high, a remnant of the landslide.

Finnich Glen - Devil's Pulpit

The scene was filmed at Finnich Glen in Stirlingshire, a short, steep glen up to 70 feet deep. It features a round rock known as the Devil's Pulpit and a steep staircase known as the Devil's Steps, built around 1860.
