The scene was filmed at The court was created on May 30, 1849 as the Court of Queen's Bench. The court's judges had jurisdiction to hear criminal cases until 1920, when it was transferred to the Superior Court. In 1974, it was officially renamed the Quebec Court of Appeal. Initially, the court consisted of four judges, including the Chief Justice. It currently consists of 20 judges, including the Chief Justice.

The scene was filmed at The McConnell Engineering Building was donated to McGill in 1959 by John W. McConnell, a major benefactor of the university since 1911 and one of its governors from 1928 to 1958. In the post-World War II period, when all engineering faculties expanded significantly, this nine-story building doubled the number of classrooms, lecture halls, and offices available for use by the aforementioned faculties.

The scene was filmed at The Ulysses S. Grant Memorial is a presidential memorial in Washington, D.C., dedicated to American Civil War general and 18th President of the United States Ulysses S. Grant. It is located at the base of Capitol Hill (Union Square, The Mall, 1st Street, between Pennsylvania Avenue and Maryland Avenue). Work on the memorial began in 1902. It was created by sculptor Henry Merwin Shrady and architect Edward Pearce Casey. Sculptor Edmond Amateis assisted Shrady as the monument neared completion in 1921.
