The scene was filmed Originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, the structure was rebuilt in 1965. The most notable building of the complex is the open rotunda, standing 162 feet (49 m) tall. On the floor under the dome is a plaque from the Lucasfilm Foundation, the charitable foundation of 'Star Wars' creator George Lucas. The Palace of Fine Arts is just an 11-minute walk from Lucasfilm's offices in San Francisco. 'Star Wars' fans won't want to miss the Yoda Fountain, which is open to the public.

The scene was filmed Grace Cathedral is an Episcopal cathedral on Nob Hill, San Francisco. The parish, founded in 1849, lost its previous church building during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The parish opened a temporary facility in 1907, raised enough funds to begin construction of the current cathedral in 1927, began using it in 1934, and completed final construction in 1964. The cathedral is famous for its mosaics by Jan Henryk de Rosen.
