The scene was filmed at "Villa 20." The film's director Rian Johnson discovered "Villa 20" during a scouting trip. He immediately decided to use it for the film. The actors and their families also stayed there during filming in a situation Johnson described as "summer vacation where we also shot a movie."

The scene was filmed at the ferry dock of the island of Spetses. Spetses is a historic island at the entrance to the Argolic Gulf. The island belongs to the Argo-Saronic Islands group. The capital of Spetses is located on the northeastern coast of the island. The island has about 4,000 permanent residents.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in a large 7-bedroom, 9,000-square-foot house located in the Sterling Ridge area of Harrison, New York. The estate was built in 1940. The value of this house is estimated at $6 million.
