The scene was filmed at The old bridge spanning the Brazos River is located near Newcastle, about 120 miles west of Fort Worth, and sits next to its replacement, a wider bridge opened in 1980 on Highway 380. The old 380 bridge was built in 1932-33 and shows its age.

The scene was filmed at The Louisiana Governor's Mansion is the official residence of the Governor of Louisiana and his family. The Governor's Mansion was built in 1963 when Jimmy Davis was Governor of Louisiana. The mansion was designed by the architectural firm "Annan and Gilmer" of Shreveport, Louisiana. The final cost of the building was $893,843. The inspiration for the exterior design was Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, Louisiana. Like many plantation homes built between 1830 and 1860, Oak Alley was designed with a second-floor veranda.

The scene was filmed at The historic 16,800 sq ft building, originally built as a courthouse in 1916, was recently used as part of P.G.T Beauregard Middle School. It served as the first St. Bernard courthouse until 1939, when the parish administration moved to Chalmette. The second floor can be rented for events such as receptions, small weddings, and class reunions.
