The scene was filmed at Bastei is a rock formation rising 194 meters above the Elbe River in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Germany, near Dresden. Bastei has been a tourist attraction for over 200 years. In 1824, a wooden bridge was built to connect several rocks for visitors, later replaced by a stone bridge.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at Built in 1910, the Stadthalle had been closed for many years when Wes Anderson and his team discovered it. The film crew transformed the old town hall into a dining room for the film. To complete the shoot, Wes Anderson commissioned artist Michael Lenz to paint a large backdrop in the style of 19th-century landscape painter Caspar David Friedrich.

The scene was filmed at The store has not existed since 2010 and was in the process of bankruptcy. Anderson's film crew took over the store, turning its interior into the Grand Hotel with a production office on the top floor. Although significant changes were made to the store, the staircases, railings, chandeliers, and stained glass ceiling that appear in the film are original.

The scene was filmed at The store never closes, even on Christmas. It attracts over 800,000 visitors per year. This makes it one of the most popular places in Dresden. In 1892, the company Villeroy & Boch provided 247.90 square meters of stained glass tiles to decorate the store. The store miraculously survived the bombing by the British and Americans in February 1945.

The scene was filmed at The Zwinger is a palace in Dresden built in the Baroque style, designed by court architect Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. Today, the Zwinger is a museum complex. The building was largely destroyed by bombing in February 1945.
