The scene was filmed at El Castillo - a Mesoamerican step-pyramid that dominates the center of the Chichen Itza archaeological site in the Mexican state of Yucatán. Built by the pre-Columbian Maya civilization sometime between the 8th and 12th centuries AD, El Castillo served as a temple to the god Kukulcan.

It is located to the north of the civic quarter of Chichen Itza, connected to it by a 300-meter (980 ft) sacbe, or raised and paved pathway.
