In reality

The scene was filmed at Kipu Kai - a large bay on the southeast coast of Kauai. From the beach you can see the distinctive point of Kawelikoa. It is located between Lihue and Poipu. The only access road is private. Therefore, the only way to get to the beach is to jump off a boat or kayak. Both options are not recommended. The beach and Kawelikoa Point can be seen from afar during a quad bike ride through Kipu Ranch. Originally, the land was bought by William Hyde Rice from Princess Ruth. He paid $3,000 for 6,000 acres. They agreed that the land would always belong to his family and would never be developed. This agreement has been honored by three generations of the family. After the death of the last remaining family member, the land may go to the government. Locals fear it will be sold to a developer for profit.
