The scene was filmed at Lafayette Square, a 2.5-acre park located directly across from Gallier Hall. This famous Greek Revival building, designed by architect James Gallier Sr., served as City Hall for over 100 years. Known as a favorite venue for concerts and festivals, including the annual free spring 12-week concert series "Wednesdays at the Square." Lafayette Square is the second oldest square in New Orleans. It is still used for inaugurations and civic events. Designed in 1788 by Charles Laveau Trudeau, Surveyor General of Louisiana under the Spanish government.
