The scene was filmed at First Presbyterian Church was founded in 1761 by several Scottish-Irish families who came to Baltimore Town from the Pennsylvania frontier, fleeing the horrors of the French and Indian War. They supported the cause of independence during the American Revolution and advocated for the separation of church and state, enshrined in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The founder of this church, Reverend Dr. Patrick Allison, was a chaplain of the Continental Congress and a personal friend of George Washington. As downtown Baltimore became increasingly commercial, in 1859 the congregation moved to its current location at Park Avenue and Madison Street. The magnificent Gothic building was designed by American architect Norris G. Starkweather.

Founded in 1857 and opened in 1866 by merchant/financier and philanthropist George Peabody (1795-1869), it is the oldest conservatory in the United States. Its merger in recent decades, beginning in 1977 with JHU, allows students to conduct research across various disciplines.
