I'm watching the series "Widow's Bay" — a mix of Stephen King and satirical series about our society [which is not surprising, since the show's creator Katie Dippold was responsible for "Parks and Recreation" and "Brooklyn 9-9"].
The mystical atmosphere of a godforsaken island with a small settlement is very cool: abandonment, some madness and wildness — everything is in place. But there is no hopelessness and despair, so often found in King. Humor turns out to be a small ray of light in this town of fogs and ghosts.

Filming took place in Massachusetts, one of the oldest regions in the US, where key events in the country's history occurred — which is very symbolic for a plot where the characters also try to understand the past of their town, where some crazy stuff is happening.

The series is not exactly horror, but there are enough genre elements to make you feel uneasy. For example, the scene with the clown in the cursed hotel is done really well. But perhaps episode 6 turned out to be the scariest so far: it's literally a short version of folk horror on a minimal scale. It's shot very nicely, and that's also not surprising, as this episode was directed by Ti West.

In short, "Widow's Bay" is great and very suitable for rainy weather [if you have rains like in St. Petersburg], I recommend it!
