A couple of months ago, we asked ourselves: why not? Why not make a printed magazine in 2026, when everyone around says that paper is dead?

And we did it.

Tomorrow, the first printed issue of Kanobu comes out, which we dedicated to beloved worlds and fanaticism in pop culture. Together with Yaroslav @born_again_blog, we came up with the concept, gathered a couple of dozen cool topics that we ourselves would love to read, attracted talented authors we regularly work with, and wrote several pieces ourselves. Honestly, this was one of the most difficult projects in my editorial life – not because something went wrong (although we set Spartan deadlines and conditions for ourselves), but because we wanted to do it well.

A magazine is not a website. You can't fix a typo after publication. You can't rewrite the lead if it didn't work, or change the headline to something more clickbaity. Everything that is printed is printed. It's disciplining and a little scary.

We made it for people who are interested in thinking about movies, games, TV series, and culture – not superficially, but seriously. Because for us, as for many, this is an important part of life. So inside are honest texts about what matters to us.

The magazine will be available for purchase at the XII Book Festival "Red Square" from June 4 to 7. Later, a link for online ordering will appear (I'll share it, of course).
