Penguin vs. Maroni

After Sofia kidnaps Oz's mother, Francis, Salvatore Maroni (Clancy Brown) and his men arrive in town to beat the Penguin and tell him he must renounce his claims and return Sofia's Bliss drug in exchange for his mother's life.
The Penguin leads Sal and his men into an underground trolley system that Oz used to smuggle his goods unnoticed throughout the city. However, Cobb's men cut the power and fight back, resulting in Oz and Sal getting into a shootout inside one of the trolleys. Who do you think came out on top?
Although Sal gains the upper hand, he dies of a heart attack mid-"fight." This is a tragic and extremely unexpected way for one of Gotham's biggest crime bosses to go. But Oz's reaction here is even more interesting: he deludes himself (and obviously everyone else) into believing he actually killed Salvatore Maroni, shooting the dead man several times in the chest before taking his ring (usually, owners of this ring do not die of natural causes).
Along with one tragic death, we are shown others, but from the past. Earlier, Oz said that his brothers were "taken by the city," hinting at crime and poverty. But in reality, we learned that the siblings died because of him, the Penguin. During one of their walks, he left his brothers locked in that same underground where he later set up a drug lab. Jack and Benny couldn't escape, drowning due to rain flooding the underground. This series spares no one.
Is Sofia Truly Insane?

After talking with Francis Cobb and her niece Gia, who saw the gas mask in Sofia's bag that night she gassed the Falcones, Sofia Gigante realizes she is not doing anything new since leaving Arkham. She is becoming her father, and this realization almost paralyzes her, especially after she repeats Carmine's words spoken years ago when Sofia suspected the truth about what happened to her mother. Until this moment, the ex-Falcone had denied the dark truth that she had essentially done the same thing to her family.
After this, Sofia decides to start a new "game," much more brutal and aimed solely at pure revenge against Oz Cobb. The woman no longer cares about the drugs, wanting the Penguin to suffer, so she decides to blow up his hideout using a decoy car supposedly containing his mother.
The endgame is set: Sofia still holds Oz's mother captive, having learned more about the Penguin's childhood, and Farrell's hero has nothing left to lose—except his mother's love, which Gigante will surely try to undermine in the final episode. Their final clash will be the culmination of the confrontation, and clearly only one of them will survive.
