For those who watched part of the film "Deadpool & Wolverine" with the words "Oh, it's him!" and for those who didn't understand why the entire audience greeted some characters with applause and laughter.

Caution, spoilers! The article contains very, very big spoilers for the appearance of many characters, which may ruin your experience if you haven't seen the film.

So, after six years, Deadpool has finally returned to the big screen. And not alone. Besides the magnificent return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, we got many references, Easter eggs, and cameos (call them what you will) to many events from both the Marvel universe and news about upcoming/past films. In the third solo film, Deadpool frequently breaks the fourth wall to comment on Fox, giggle at Marvel, and throw in some fan service.

Most of the Easter eggs became possible thanks to the Void – a space where everything and everyone unwanted is dumped. Let's figure out together what you might have missed or not understood. Some of the main Easter eggs from the film "Deadpool & Wolverine".

Chris Evans as Johnny Storm

Remember how in 2022 Chris Evans categorically told journalists that he was not going to return to the MCU. So his cameo in this film was very unexpected. But even more surprising for fans (and Deadpool himself) was that Chris appeared not as Cap, but as Johnny Storm from the 2005 "Fantastic Four". Moreover, he brilliantly portrayed the difference between the characters even just with his voice and phrases. We didn't hear the legendary "Avengers, Assemble", but we got a dozen choice swear words (which is also a reference to Cap's "language"). It's clear that Chris Evans himself enjoyed the role.

Jennifer Garner as Elektra

Garner first appeared as Elektra in the 2003 film "Daredevil", and then in the 2005 sequel "Elektra" by Rob Bowman. The return was epic, and also funny, with plenty of jokes about her ex-husband Ben Affleck (who played Matt Murdock in that film).

Wesley Snipes as Blade

We first saw Blade in his portrayal back in 1998. Then Ryan Reynolds and Snipes acted together in the 2004 film "Blade: Trinity". Perhaps his character gets the most applause from the audience, because "There's only one Blade. And there's always only one." In the corner, Mahershala Ali quietly cries and his still-unreleased Blade film.

Channing Tatum as Gambit

The long-suffering Gambit, who never delighted fans, is another victim of the Disney-Fox merger. One of the favorite characters and mutants from "X-Men" finally got his portrayal in the film. The jokes about his accent, the non-existent film, and the brilliant reflection of his superpowers are all in place.

Dafne Keen returned as X-23

We first saw Laura, better known as X-23, in the 2017 film "Logan". She was only 11 then. Seven years passed, and a very touching reunion between her and Logan took place in the new Deadpool. The main thing is that the legendary pink glasses also remained in the frame.

Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool

There were many rumors about this variant of Deadpool, up to the point that Taylor Swift would play the role. But the main theory turned out to be true – Reynolds' wife portrayed the role of Wanda Wilson from Earth-3010 on screen. Nathan Fillion as Headpool

An untranslatable pun from the fusion of Henry Cavill's surname and Wolverine. Better known to superhero film fans as Superman from DC. It's also funny to catch the reference to "reloading fists" – the same movements Henry made in the film "Mission: Impossible – Fallout".

Hulk vs. Wolverine

Wolverine's first appearance was in issue #180 of "The Incredible Hulk", and then these two characters crossed paths many times. The film recreated the famous comic cover where Hulk's face is reflected in Wolverine's claws.

Short Wolverine variant

In Marvel comics, Wolverine is depicted as a scrappy, stocky Canadian standing 5 feet 3 inches (about 160 cm). So when Hugh Jackman, who is 6 feet 2 inches (187 cm), was cast, "X-Men" fans were very skeptical. But here we are shown a short Logan, matching the comic description.

Patch

Deadpool encounters a variant of Wolverine resembling Patch, one of Logan's alter egos from the comics, who was on an undercover mission in Madripoor. He can be recognized by his eye patch and white tuxedo.

Wolverine from "Fever Dream"

This is also one of the famous Marvel comic covers. Wolverine was crucified on an X-shaped cross, surrounded by piles of red skulls.

Wolverine from "Age of Apocalypse"

Azazel

Actor Jason Flemyng played Azazel in the 2011 film "X-Men: First Class".

Juggernaut

You might recognize the character from the films "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "Deadpool 2", but actor Vinnie Jones, unfortunately, did not return to his role.

Lady Deathstrike

This super-villainess with adamantium nails was first played by Kelly Hu in the film "X2".

Psylocke

Psylocke, played by Meiling Melançon, appears in the film "X-Men: The Last Stand". There she is part of Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. In this film, her role was taken over by Olivia Munn.

Rob McElhenney as a TVA agent

The cameo was earned by another friend of Ryan Reynolds, as well as a business partner – co-owner of a football club in the UK. As an actor, you could have seen Rob in the comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".

This is a super-villain appearing in Marvel comics. He is one of the Punisher's enemies. And he was played in the 2004 film by wrestler Kevin Nash.

Sentinels are some of the most famous robot villains of the X-Men, programmed to destroy all mutants. We saw them in the film "X-Men: Days of Future Past".

Doctor Strange's Cloak

Cassandra Nova mentions meeting an "amateur magician", and on her table you can see the red edge of Strange's flowing cloak. Plus – his ring. And two Infinity Stones.

Giant Ant-Man corpse

Even in the trailer, they showed us a shelter from the Void. And if you thought it was just a costume, no, it's actually a corpse. It is also a reference to the comic "Old Man Logan".

Houses from Asgard

Some of Asgard's skyscrapers – Thor's homes – can be seen in the Void.

Black Order Q-Ship

The very ships on which Thanos's minions arrived on Earth. They are easily remembered as they are depicted in the shape of a ring in the Void. And we saw them in the film "Avengers: Infinity War".

Helicarrier

A series of flying aircraft carriers, used by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Also spotted in the Void.

Unfortunately, we didn't see the Spideys themselves. But we got a reference to web-shooting from Deadpool during their car ride.

Chitauri Leviathan

These are mental creations, as well as Chitauri warships. They were part of Thanos's army, and they are also lying around in the Void.

Tony Stark's Hot Rod

One of Cassandra Nova's minions drives a Ford Flathead Roadster. This is a car that Tony Stark has in his garage.

Deadpool's Chimichanga Truck

In the comics, Deadpool has a strange obsession with Mexican chimichangas. One of the trucks also drives through the Void.

Choreographer Nick Polly and the iconic track "Bye Bye Bye"

Deadpool decided to play on "millennial nostalgia" and danced to the track by 'N Sync. Deadpool's dance version was so popular with viewers that it went viral on social media, especially TikTok. It is through TikToks that fans know the choreographer himself, who performed the dance in the film.
