There's a new hot couple in Westeros, and it's not Alicent and Criston. There are new dragonriders in Westeros, and they're not Targaryens. So much has happened in Westeros this week – we tell you all about it in the latest recap of 'House of the Dra...
Time flies. Only two episodes remain until the end of Season 2 of 'House of the Dragon'. The war is in full swing, new dragonriders appear on the horizon, and in castles on both warring sides, fierce debates continue on how to bring the conflict to victory, while pondering that power is not a prize, but a burden. Meanwhile, let's break down episode 6, which could be a turning point for future events of the Dance of the Dragons.

Lannister Conditions and Aemond's Decisions
The Lannister forces (including lions in cages) are almost ready to march on Harrenhal on behalf of the Greens. But their main demand is the participation of Aemond himself (Ewan Mitchell), the acting king, along with the dragon Vhagar.
Their leader, Jason Lannister, sends a raven to the Small Council. Aemond freaks out and refuses to go anywhere at the first demand of his subordinates. Moreover, he wants to deal with the naval blockade by the Velaryon forces. To do this, he plans to form an alliance with the Triarchy.
Alicent (Olivia Cooke) disagrees: instead, they could unite with the Greyjoys, but they are not responding to her letters. As a result, Aemond excludes his mother from the Small Council (practically sending her to cook borscht), and orders Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) and his troops to strike Harrenhal before Daemon (Matt Smith) gathers a powerful army. He himself promises to join with Vhagar, 'when the time comes.' We've seen this before, we know how it goes.
Search for Dragonriders
At the council of the Black side of the conflict, several important events occur. First, Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) officially assumes the position of Hand of the Queen. Second, Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) tells everyone about her plan – to find new riders for the 'unclaimed' dragons on their island, which in age and status can rival Vhagar.
The first candidate is Steffon Darklyn, one of her noble knights. Rhaenyra found records indicating that the lineages of the Darklyns and Targaryens were intertwined before. He accepts the challenge, knowing it could end in death. And it does end that way in a spectacular scene, when the dragon Seasmoke (by the way, the former dragon of Rhaenyra's ex-husband Laenor) briefly showed humility and readiness to accept a new rider, then roasted him alive and flew off into the sunset.
Later in one of the episodes, we see how Seasmoke personally finds himself a new rider, who turns out to be Addam (Clinton Liberty), one of Corlys Velaryon's bastards.
6 Demons of Daemon Targaryen
At Harrenhal, Daemon continues to encounter ghosts of the past. Earlier, he beheaded young Rhaenyra, made love to his own mother, and now he meets his deceased brother Viserys (a great cameo by the beloved character from the first season, played by Paddy Considine).
In this vision, Daemon revisits the moment when Viserys rejects him as heir and chooses Rhaenyra instead. When he wakes up, he decides to leave Harrenhal.
On the way, he passes by Alys Rivers. 'Something is wrong with me. Someone poisoned me,' he says to the strange woman who had previously offered him not-at-all-suspicious drinks. In desperation, Targaryen asks Alys for help, and she points out that only House Tully can help him unite the armies of the Riverlands. After that, she suggests he do nothing and just wait for three days.
Waking from another dream, Daemon learns that Lord Grover Tully has died of illness. Alys Rivers, according to Ser Simon Strong, did everything she could but could not save him (HA-HA). Now young Oscar Tully, whom Daemon can easily manipulate, is the Lord of the Riverlands. Targaryen will finally gather an army. Interestingly, he didn't have to do anything for it, while all his own attempts were unsuccessful.
Mysaria's Victories
We return to Dragonstone and note Mysaria's (Sonoya Mizuno) successes. She reports to Rhaenyra that her plan to win over the common people from King's Landing is working perfectly. The starving residents of the capital gladly accept Rhaenyra's gifts and begin to praise her as the true queen, while attacking Alicent and Helaena as they leave the Sept. They were not harmed, but they were certainly shocked.
It is also important to note the focus on the blacksmith, who becomes increasingly disillusioned with the current 'leadership' of the capital, making him a strong supporter of Rhaenyra. And you don't need to be a seer (or read George R.R. Martin's book) to know that this character will become another dragonrider. It's a matter of time.
Another 'victory' for Mysaria is her relationship with Rhaenyra, which has now become not only professional and friendly but also romantic. There is another hot couple in Westeros (Rhaesaria? Minyra?). However, it didn't go beyond a kiss, as the queen was told about the rider of Seasmoke, and she rushes after him despite all the pleas from her son Jace not to do so.
New Old Hand of the King
At the Green council, they not only decided on war plans but also discussed the status of the Hand. Since Cole is Aegon's Hand and has been sent to war, Aemond needs his own Hand. Larys Strong (Matthew Needham) eyes this position, noting that a person in this role should be smart and cunning. Targaryen laughs at this attempt and orders the return of Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) to the capital.
Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), meanwhile, is recovering. Aemond visits the king to find out what he remembers before his fall from the dragon and whether he realized that his brother tried to kill him. But Aegon says he remembers nothing (or perhaps he has finally stopped being a fool and is just pretending).
Larys Strong, however, does not give up trying to raise his status at court. He shows feigned sympathy for the bedridden Aegon and talks to the king about what it's like to be a cripple in this world:
They will underestimate you, and that will be your advantage.
After this heart-wrenching monologue, Aegon begs Larys for help. What will this lead to? It's hard to say, the king's physical condition is unclear.
