A Few Facts About the New Series with Idris Elba

'Hijack' is a British thriller created by director Jim Field Smith ('Criminal', 'The Wrong Mans') and screenwriter George Kay ('Lupin', 'Killing Eve'). 

Idris Elba will play the lead role and serve as executive producer of the series. 

As Entertainment Weekly reports, Idris Elba finds the plot extremely interesting:

It's a fresh take on the thriller and hostage situation. It shows what it does to human nature. 

The thriller takes place during a seven-hour flight from Dubai to London when five passengers hijack the plane. Sam Nelson (Idris Elba) is an experienced negotiator who also finds himself on the flight. Sam decides to negotiate with the terrorists to ensure no harm comes to any of the passengers, so he can safely return home to his family.

Emmy Award winner Archie Panjabi ('The Good Wife', 'The Constant Gardener') will take on the role of a London counter-terrorism agent who plays a crucial part in this story. 

The series also stars:
