A former priest (Roman Mayakin) and police captain Katya Zemtsova (Lukerya Ilyashenko) continue their unequal battle against evil spirits on the city streets. Back in 2020, a 6-episode series of 15 minutes each was released about their adventures. If desired, every KION user could enable the 'watch as a movie' function and enjoy the modern story of monster hunters in one sitting.
In 2023, the feature-length film 'Sergiy vs. Evil. Sabbath' was released. With an open ending, one wanted to see a continuation, but the new release coming out on April 20 is just an extended version of that same film. The runtime of the episodes has doubled, so now there is more action, more enemies, and new adventures on screen.

Episode One. Battle with the Zmey Gorynych
We are all used to Zmey Gorynych being a large three-headed dragon who just wants to cause trouble and kidnap beautiful girls. But what if it were a human? And each head is a new guise?
The story serves as a bit of a warm-up for all subsequent events. Again, Sergiy and Katya are in battle, ready to move forward for victory. Through the screen, you can even feel that the heroes' relationship is becoming more and more trusting and partnership-like.
Episode Two. The Store and the Domovoi
Of the three episodes, this one is the most entertaining, sweet, and unusual. If the first episode was a warm-up, then the last one contains the main events. But the second episode was created so that we could enjoy the project.
What happens if a half-domovoi, half-ghost takes up residence in a typical Moscow supermarket? The price in such a store could be your life. The episode seems designed to give Katya more freedom. Now she is not just a hunting assistant but the main specialist. True, she learns all this through trial and error.
Comically in this episode are the domovoi of various arts: a cook, a fitness trainer, and others. But the main thing in the episode is the atmosphere of kindness created by the ship's domovoi, also known as Sergiy's barge domovoi.
Episode Three. Sabbath
The episode turned out beautiful and stylish, which cannot be said about the other stories. Just look at Sergiy's appearance after a night hunt. And how magnificent is Nino Ninidze in the role of the Sirin bird!
The final battle takes place in the mansion of P. P. Smirnov, which has become a popular filming location in Moscow. The halls of this house can be seen more than once in the dilogy 'Major Grom'.
Despite the beautiful visuals, the stories immerse you in dark domestic mythology and adapt quite well to modern realities. The heroes themselves seem to have moved to a new level of relationship, although it is still unclear what exactly is happening between Sergiy and Katya. At some moments, a spark of love seems to flash, but work and duty prevail.
In the background, Auntie (Irina Rozanova) also looks brilliant, and Krakin (Dmitry Kulichkov) is responsible for the comical moments.
One gets the feeling that the screenwriters do not yet want to delve deeper into the characters' stories. They only slightly revealed Auntie's past, and even then only to introduce Viy into the plot.
Either new episodes and stories will soon appear before the viewer, or the creators themselves are not interested in their heroes' past. One wants to delve deeper into this amazing world of evil spirits, to understand how Father Sergiy became who he is, and whether he always had this sharp sense of humor. The project has quite firmly found its niche in fantasy and the depiction of demonic creatures, which is currently on television screens.
