One of the best films of the year, a Yakut Eastern, and other exclusive October premieres on the Kinopremiera channel in a traditional review of TV new releases.

“Set the Mood for Cinema!” presents exclusive new films that will be shown for the first time on Russian TV in October on the “Kinopremiera” channel.

October 5 — “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”

A poignant biographical drama about the rise, fall, and repentance of the popular 80s televangelists Tammy Faye Bakker and Jim Bakker. Two Academy Awards, including Best Actress for the fiery beauty Jessica Chastain (“Interstellar,” “The Help”).

October 12 — “Everything Everywhere All at Once”

One of the best films of the year from the legendary independent studio A24. Box office in Russia — over 130 million rubles. An inventive and witty action film with Michelle Yeoh (“Memoirs of a Geisha”) as a laundromat owner who unlocks the possibilities of the multiverse.

October 19 — “Amanat”

A war drama about love and duty based on real events during the height of the 19th-century Caucasian War. The story of Jamaluddin, the son of Imam Shamil, who becomes an amanat — a hostage proving loyalty to Russia. He falls in love with the daughter of a retired general, and from a hostage of big politics turns into a hostage of great love.

October 26 — “Cold Gold”

A tense Yakut “Eastern,” based on the true story of a conflict between the NKVD and smugglers over gold mines in Aldan during the height of the Great Patriotic War.
