From September 21 to 25, the 12th Moscow International Action and Horror Film Festival 'KAPLYA' will take place in the capital. The event will feature horror film screenings, a master class with film stars, and an awards ceremony.
Before the Apocalypse sounds, the production company Live Entertainment will launch the 12th Moscow International Action and Horror Film Festival 'KAPLYA' on September 21, 2022, in Moscow. The festival will conclude on September 25 with an awards ceremony. Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to attend a master class from leading domestic and international genre filmmakers. They will also be treated to dozens of premieres of feature and short films from around the world.
On one hand, viewers will see painfully familiar and beloved variations involving attempts to escape from a car on a straight and level highway, descending into a dark, ominous basement with the question 'Who's there?' and splitting into groups to quickly explore the area under deadly threat. On the other hand, in original plot twists, genre fans will be hopelessly confused by quantum uncertainty, cognitive dissonance caused by police arriving on time at the scene, and pleasantly surprised by a good guy from the village who actually turns out to be good.
British scientists have proven that horror films are psychotherapy before a mortgage. Wellness sessions of the competition program will take place from September 21 to 24 at the KOSMOS cinema and concert hall of the SALYUT Cultural Center (37 Svobody Street), the electronic cinema 'World of Art' (33 Dolgorukovskaya Street, Building 3), and the VIP cinema 'Coperto cinema' (5 Pokrovsky Boulevard). Both genre masters and novice interns have submitted their work to the festival organizing committee. The competition jury will recognize the most effective methods with award statuettes, diplomas, valuable prizes, and certificates for television broadcast of the film.
Under the slogan 'To be scared is to survive!' an expert jury was assembled, including film director and producer, member of the jury of major international film festivals worldwide, including MIFF — Mehdi Fard (Iran), film producer and actor Richard Cutting (USA), film director Rohit Govardanam (India), film actor Yuri Torsuev (Russia), director, producer, and cinematographer Andrea Marfori (Italy), film producer and program director of many international film festivals Silvia Perel (Mexico), film director and producer Ray Lee (Malaysia), and film actor Vilen Babichev (Russia).
To tell fans at the master class and ceremony that being scared is not scary, international guests will fly in. This year, the festival focuses on a section of Turkish horror cinema. Descendants of the bloodthirsty Janissaries, film actor and pop star Adnan Koç ('Magnificent Century', 'East-West', 'Siccin', 'Fathers and Sons'), film director Alper Mestçi ('Siccin 1-6', 'Three Apocrypha 1-3', 'Infected 1-2', 'The Owner'), film actor and singer Koray Şahinbaş ('Resurrection: Ertuğrul', 'Siccin', 'Infected 2', 'Mother's Wound', 'Dam', 'Lady Dila') have already confirmed their participation.
In addition to artists from Asia Minor, Hollywood stars will take part in the festival events: William McNamara ('Survival Game', 'Rotten Tail', 'Age of the Living Dead', 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde', 'Secrets of Emily Blair', 'Evil Inside', 'Mummy's Day', 'Baker's Dozen', 'Iron Man', 'Law & Order', 'Runaway from Hell', 'The Hunger', 'The Imitator', 'Survival Game', 'NYPD Blue'), Hideo Kimura ('The Game', 'Deadpool 2', 'Austin Powers', 'Squid Game'), as well as controversial German film director of films based on legendary video games Uwe Boll ('BloodRayne 1-3', 'Zombie Massacre', 'Under Siege', 'Alone in the Dark 1-2', 'House of the Dead'). Other guests may confirm their participation closer to the start of the festival.

With greetings and recommendations on how to maximize profit from fear, international stars who, for one reason or another, missed the Moscow feast of mystical and deviant stories will address Russian fans. They will record video messages in 25th-frame mode for better assimilation of the material.
The domestic film industry at this year's festival events will be represented by Oleg Taktarov, Viktor Sukhorukov, Yuri Stoyanov, Vitaly Khaev, Milos Bikovic, Alexei Guskov, Dmitry Gizbrecht, as well as the headliner of Russian cinema Wolfgang Cerny. They know, not in a cinematic way, that women and children can be true hellspawn.
You will learn about real horror on film sets from professionals on September 24 at 6:00 PM at the KOSMOS cinema and concert hall on the territory of the Salyut Cultural Center, where a master class in a Q&A session format will take place. And on September 25 at the same venue with the same company, you will be able to participate in the festival's awards ceremony. Prominent figures of genre cinema, in exchange for a statuette, will share new stories from the stage about the countless sacrifices that must be made for a quality thriller. The show program will feature Russian pop stars, as well as talented child performers — participants and finalists of top television projects 'The Voice', 'Junior Eurovision', and many others. 'Deadly silence' is guaranteed.
