Good evening, dear listeners! 'After the Credits' continues to follow the misadventures of the hosts of the podcast 'Only Murders in the Building'. In this episode, you can expect unusual wake, connoisseurs of dumpster art, lesbian kisses, and much more!

Part 1. How to Get Rid of Evidence?
Today's story uses flashbacks as a connecting link – the first one, mockingly historical, tells how a secret elevator appeared in one of the building's closets. It turns out that the original architect of the 'Arconia' complex and, coincidentally, the father of the murdered Bunny Folger, liked to incorporate little secrets into his projects. And with the help of this elevator, he would spy on young beauties changing clothes. Who would have thought!
So, our heroes Charles-Hayden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) discover a missing and very expensive painting in Charles's apartment. Suspicions about the man depicted on the canvas are confirmed, as the title of the painting – 'Savage' – is indicated on the back. Of course, fans of the first season of 'Only Murders in the Building' will recall that Charles has a very complicated relationship with his father – and it was on this very basis that he once struck up a conversation with the secretive Mabel.
While our heroes are perplexed, neighbor Howard (Hello, Howard! How nice to see a familiar face from the first season!) invites them to Bunny Folger's wake, which, of course, gives them the idea to discreetly return the painting to its place.
At the wake, we are treated to a funny reference to Oliver's love of hummus and the biggest surprise – the appearance of Bunny's mother, Leonora, played by the divine Shirley MacLaine, who is the owner of the painting. The heroes' plan fails, but we get several extremely interesting scenes with Leonora. Moreover, we are so clearly and openly led to understand that the old lady could hardly have committed the murder that you can't help but wonder: are they trying to mislead us?..
Part 2. The Podcast 'Only Murders in the Building' Separately
The painting, which the hapless podcast colleagues hid in the trash, disappears without a trace, and the heroes go their separate ways.
Charles talks to Leonora and learns that his father was having an affair with her and the artist Rose Cooper, who then disappeared under mysterious circumstances. This leads to a series of flashbacks through which Charles pieces the picture together: his father, under the guise of acting auditions, went on dates with Rose in the house opposite the 'Arconia', leaving his son to wait with the doorman, and after one such meeting, he was taken to the police. Hmm, I wonder how early these plot points were thought out? Because so far it looks a bit tacked on for the sake of a reference to the first season...
Mabel, meanwhile, visits her new acquaintance Alice (Cara Delevingne). This culminates in an epic destruction of an abstract sculpture to the song by Billie Eilish, followed by an awkward kiss.
Host's note: Was it just me, or did Selena Gomez seem extremely uncomfortable in this scene? In any case, it's now clear why Oscar's character was removed. Sad. But we digress, dear listeners, let's get back to the story.
Meanwhile, Oliver visits Amy Schumer (who, even in the minimal screen time, has already started to get frankly annoying, to be honest). During a discussion of a potential series based on the podcast 'Only Murders in the Building', Oliver notices the missing 'Savage', which Amy found in the trash and hung on her wall.
What a nice touch to Schumer's character description. Digging through trash and taking other people's things. Are we sure this isn't accidental self-reflection?
Part 3. The Return of the Painting and Summing Up
All three storylines converge and lead to Leonora breaking into Amy's apartment. Here it turns out that the painting is just a reproduction, so the original is still lost.
The episode ends with Bunny's talking parrot, which was bequeathed to Oliver, hinting that it knows who is responsible for what's happening. A cliffhanger for the sake of a cliffhanger.
You may ask, what are our impressions of the second episode, and was the series 'Only Murders in the Building' able to get back on its horse? Alas, we are still in a state of warming up. Cara and Amy, predictably, are currently the weakest characters, and our interest in solving the mystery has not yet been awakened.
However, we got a fantastic addition to the cast in the form of MacLaine, who outshines all the supporting characters combined. And, thank heavens, our concerns about Oliver have not yet been justified. For now, this is enough to not give up and continue watching with hope in our hearts.
