Domestic online cinemas and platforms are ramping up their output, offering viewers dozens of new projects every month. Just at the beginning of this year, we were treated to a comedy about the living dead, a drama about the behind-the-scenes world of cinema, a fantasy project about vampires, a spy story, and a new work by Valeria Gai Germanika, whose creations can be singled out as a genre of their own. Let's take a closer look at the most striking and intriguing series, in our opinion.

Nomination

Platform: Okko

Director: Nadezhda Mikhalkova

A family project by the Mikhalkov sisters, which reveals the behind-the-scenes aspects of the film world. The main character is actress Vera Istomina, who gets a role in a big Hollywood project. In an interview, she declares that Russian cinema has no future, but immediately after that, her contract is terminated. And now, no one wants to hire her for Russian films either.

Vera's sister Tatyana is more in demand as an actress, but is forced to act in mainstream cinema, although she dreams of arthouse. At some point, Vera becomes the director of a project called 'Exodus' and tries to prove herself in a new role.

The main advantage and feature of the project is that the viewer is shown how cinema is actually made. During many film courses, teachers like to 'scare' future colleagues with all the problems that can arise on set. In this series, they are shown visually — sudden rain during filming, lack of a smoke machine, actress replacement, and schedule disruption. The role of each member of the film crew is subtly shown. Even the experiences of the main characters are not as important. The main thing you understand after watching is that one common cause can unite people.

Platform: KION

Director: Valeria Gai Germanika

The new work by Valeria Gai Germanika exposes people's feelings and emotions. At first, the story seems simple: a young Russian language and literature teacher, Anna Fedorova, files a rape report after a party. She accuses her friends, influential people in the city, of the crime. The case causes a huge uproar, and the investigation sheds light on events from the past of all those involved.

If the first episodes reflect social views and changes in relationships between people during strange and stressful situations, then towards the end the story sharply changes direction. The events become more like a detective story. The message of the last episode is especially important — everything you do will eventually come back to you. If you have done evil, expect the boomerang to return. The most important thing is for a person to realize this and understand what retribution is.

In addition to numerous premieres, viewers are once again ready to be welcomed to psychological meetings with Artyom Streletsky in the second season of the series 'Trigger' and the fight against 'Epidemic' continues in the sequel to the project that made waves around the world and was liked by Stephen King himself. So we continue to closely follow the amazing world of domestic multi-episode shows.
