And while Andrew Garfield takes the heat for the entire cast or for Tobey, answering questions from journalists and hosts, we've gathered the most interesting and bizarre thoughts from the web. Let's speculate together!

According to the film's supposed plot, Peter Parker asks Doctor Strange to cast a spell to make people forget his secret identity, since everyone has learned that he is actually Spider-Man. The spell goes wrong, and the heroes apparently end up in the multiverse, where they encounter various Spider-Man villains.

Even at the trailer stage, the film seems like a big basket of Easter eggs for fans. Let's see how plausible this is.

Lizard, Sandman, and Venom

In addition to the officially presented villains and actors returning to their roles, the web is also discussing possible roles for the Lizard from 2012, the potential involvement or cameo of Tom Hardy's Venom, and the return of Sandman from the 2007 Spider-Man. Some shots have already been spotted in the trailer, but for now, these are just assumptions. In one scene, it even seems that Sandman is fighting Electro. This way, Marvel could assemble the 'Sinister Six'.

If this is indeed the train from Spider-Man 2, it's quite possible that it could end up in the same reality as Tom Holland's Peter Parker as a result of his and Strange's failed attempt to rewrite the past. Or it could just be a fun Easter egg for fans.

At the very beginning of the trailer, we see Peter Parker being interrogated by authorities about his alleged involvement in Mysterio's 'murder'. But these aren't just police officers.

They are actually agents of the Damage Control organization (D.O.D.C.), as evidenced by the jacket one of them is wearing with the organization's name. It was founded by S.H.I.E.L.D., and its purpose is to clean up destruction after superhero battles. Moreover, they have already appeared in other Spider-Man films. Perhaps this time they will play a much larger role than before.

What About Mysterio?

So, according to the events of the last released film, Mysterio is dead. And Peter Parker killed him. However, after multiple rewatches of the scene, fans still hold onto the theory that what was next to Peter was actually an illusion. And by the end of No Way Home, we might see Jake Gyllenhaal return to life.

How is this explained? Pay attention to the earpiece that Mysterio uses to control the drones. In the post-credits scene, when he delivers his message, he puts on the earpiece at the beginning of the clip. But he returns without that earpiece, which suggests two possibilities – either it's just a costume continuity error, or the person who died on the bridge was not Mysterio himself.

Doctor Strange = Mephisto = Dark Strange

According to the theory, Strange is acting too strangely, not like the responsible sorcerer we knew before. Or perhaps this version of Strange is from another universe and is some kind of 'evil' variant, i.e., Dark Doctor Strange. Or maybe the events of Avengers have affected the hero so much that we still have a lot to expect from him.

These theories are fueled by the original comics, where Mephisto made a deal with Peter to protect his identity. After the events of the 2019 film, where Peter Parker's identity was revealed to the world, Spider-Man will try to do whatever it takes to set things right. The film's plot is already being linked to the comic 'One More Day', where Parker and Mary Jane made a deal with Mephisto.

Our favorite theory, which we want to believe with all our hearts, but at the same time don't want to be disappointed when the film comes out. According to numerous leaks and reports from 'reliable' sources, we will indeed see three versions of Spider-Man on one screen. Another theory leans toward the idea that the line 'Hello, Peter' is not addressed to Tom Holland, but was edited that way for the trailer.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have received a lion's share of attention from fans, who are already dreaming of reenacted battle scenes with villains. Insiders continue to fuel interest, while the studio carefully avoids any answers.

Dafoe as Green Goblin

Willem Dafoe returns to the role of Goblin and will lead the entire operation against Spider-Man. Norman Osborn is now alive and knows about the existence of the multiverse. He wants to conquer the version of Earth where Holland's Spider-Man lives.
