How Does It Work?

I think many fans are confused about the concepts of time, space, and universes. The logic of time travel (based on the Avengers films) is that different alternative timelines and alternative universes are interchangeable.

It seemed they strictly adhered to this concept. But in the end, it all leads to confusion. Did the Avengers create different timelines or alternative realities? Technically, is Loki currently in a different timeline or a different universe? It’s unclear.

Time in Marvel is a non-linear flow, so characters can travel. Every time a character travels back in time in their own timeline, it leads to a branched reality, or rather, a different timeline. But only from the point they arrived in the past. This changes the course of events.

Traveling forward in one’s own timeline or traveling back to the present after going back in time in one’s own timeline does not lead to a branched timeline.

Loki continues to develop this idea. The series tries to explain that when someone significantly deviates from their path laid out by the Time Keepers, a branch is created.
