The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony in 2021 went without major surprises. The favorites took their prizes, and all the right people got their statuettes. The only intrigue was the change in the order of announcing the winners.

Best Original Screenplay

The first category was screenplay, where Emerald Fennell predictably won for Promising Young Woman.

Best Adapted Screenplay

The second category of the ceremony, where confidently wins. Although Zhao was predicted to win here.

Victory for Chloé Zhao. This is a historic moment, as she became the second woman in Oscar history to win this category.

Best Sound and Best Film Editing

While the first category raises no questions, Fincher was again overlooked for editing. Both awards go to the film Sound of Metal.

Best Visual Effects

Nolan is gradually storming the Oscars. Another technical award, but definitely deserved for.

Frances McDormand for her role in Nomadland. She now has three acting Oscars for leading roles and one producing Oscar. She needs one more acting Oscar to tie with Katharine Hepburn.

Best Actor

Anthony Hopkins for his role in The Father. There was still suspense until the end, as everyone thought the award would go to Chadwick. But Hopkins definitely deserved an Oscar for such a role.

We noticed with surprise that , The Trial of the Chicago 7, left without a single award. This is very sad.
